(Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, FRANCE) -- In 1983, a huge snowstorm

swept over the Valley of Chamonix, France.  The soon-to-be Venture

Up founders were snowed in their cabin for days, playing cards and

contemplating how to start an adventure company.  Fresh out of

graduate school at the University of Arizona, both mountaineers

headed to Europe a year earlier to climb and ski the French, Swiss

and Italian alps, and then travel some.

Upon their return to the U.S., they incorporated Venture Up in

Arizona, and began offering adventures to Europe, Mexico, South

America and Asia, while providing rock climbing, caving and

ropes course programs in Arizona. International publicity drew

widespread attention to Venture Up in the 1980s.  Corporate

leaders began hiring Venture Up to create innovative programs to energize their teams. The flood gates opened and today corporate team building and training in diversity are the hallmarks of our success.

The founders, David Lengyel, a plant biochemist, and Teresa Shaw Lengyel, a travel photojournalist, traveled to more than 50 countries over the years.  They served as speakers at international travel conferences abroad, and as consultants to foreign government agencies in Romania, Russia, Nepal and India, and more recently, Indonesia.

Corporate team building and diversity training make up the bulk of Venture Up's business today.  We also work frequently with U.S. government agencies, including the Secret Service, FBI, BLM, U.S. Military groups, such as the U.S. Special Forces.  Venture Up and its founders also support charities, including Doctors Without Borders, World Vision Micro, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Salvation Army, USO and Wounded Warriors Project.  We facilitate corporate giving through our Teaming for Charity programs.

Venture Up is grateful to our loyal clients for three decades of success.  We look forward to a longer and stronger relationship with you.

(Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, FRANCE) -- This historic log chalet in Chamonix sits by the River Arve across from Mont Blanc.  Originally built in the nearby village of Cluses, it was disassembled in the 1970s and reassembled in Chamonix.  In 2006 Venture Up purchased it, and remodeled it in 2007.
